My friend and I want to play some cello / clarinet duets together. Not much written for cello and clari, so I thought I'd go looking for bassoon and clarinet. But it doesn't look like there's too many of those out there either!

I wondered if anyone could recommend a few pieces I could go searching for.

Theres the poulenc sonata for clarinet & bassoon, but it may be quite hard seen as the sonata for clarinet is hard. Also, there are lots of trios for clarinet, cello & piano about (I think beethoven did some (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) )

Happy playing (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

There's a Mozart thing for clarinet and bassoon, published by Emerson. If you have a look on the June Emerson website, there are probably others - they have a lot of pieces for more unusual combinations! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Stamitz wrote a clarinet and bassoon concerto. Strauss wrote a concertino. Beethoven wrote at least 1 trio and a couple of original clarinet and bassoon duets!

Seen some on eBay over the last week or two, think I was searching on "bassoon" when I saw them.

If remembered correctly, then it is a book of duets for approx £10.95, brand new, not second hand.

I'm sure you'll find them (don't want to post a link in case it's seen as advertising)

Gebauer wrote at least six duets for clarinet and bassoon. Good luck!
