Happy Birthday sweetiepops,

Have a lovely day.
Enjoy learning to drive - are your mum and dad going to teach you?

No, my Dad has no patience. I have a man whose name I have forgotten!

Happy birthday, Nicki!

It should be a WONDERFUL day - no exams, your birthday AND driving lesson (hope you adore driving as much as I do!).

Eeep - had your card ready and then it got buried underneath something else so it's only been posted today - sorry!

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Don't worry (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

NEWSFLASH

Leicestershire police report that the whole county has been cleared of traffic as a safety measure, only the M1 remains open to through traffic. Motorists are warned to turn back at the border and find alternative routes, and to only venture out if their journey is absolutely necessary.

The AA report an inordinate number of hits on their website routefinder from motorists asking for new directions avoiding the county.

The crisis will be over at 3:00 and all roads will be reopened later this afternoon. It his hoped that the ensuing chaos will be sorted before the evening rush-hour.

Mr Flute was earlier quoted as saying that "I know it might be inconvenient but we all have to start learning sometime, personally I am pleased that Nicki has made a start and I look forward to when she is qualified and I am no longer required for taxi services"

Just had my first driving lesson, it was good, but scary and a bit overwhelming. Apparently I need gear practice!

Yup!! That's the hardest part. It's like playing a musical instrument you just need loads of practice and then it will be second nature.

There's that crazy thing that comes form clutch and acclerator unco-ordination that makes the car jump forwards in spurts like a kangaroo. Practically ALL learners will do this at some point, but once you've got the co-ordination it becomes impossible to do it again.

(But you could however get an automatic (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) or is that cheating (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) )

If it has a 1.3 engine, it is very short on grunt and refinement (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
