Come back from an AMAZING tour in Italy, I'll write about it later.

What have I missed? I would check the fora thoroughly, but when I tell the computer to go back on these fora, it doesn't do anything, grr. Email dead too.

Lovely to be back (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Good to have you back!!

Not a lot has been happening due to the board being down or functioning wrong for the last week.

You already noticed the back button doesn't work, you probably lost all your PMs too!!!

*sigh* So most of the activity has been "Hey what's wrong with the forum??" posts (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
However mrb had a baby (or rather mrsb did!)

Looking fwd to hearing about your trip

Oh phew, thought it was just my computer. Ohh, I had kept some of those PMs, nevermind.

My trip:
* 30 hour journey to get there - ergh
* Stayed in a lovely hotel near Perugia with a pool
* Went to Assisi, Rome, Lake Tresemo (or something like that) Maggiore Island, Perugia, and another place I can't remember
* Something went wrong and instead of calling us our proper name we were called the "British Wind Orchestra of London" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
* We got given 1 plaque, 2 plates and a tile each from various venues as thankyou presents, and got some standing ovations
* It was over 33 C every day - hot, hot, hot
* I even got stressed over the coach onb board fridge at 1am, and had several other incidents where people just laughed at me (though I laughed at myself!)
* Visited a chocolate factory
Can't think of anything else....

Glad you enjoyed your tour Nicki. Not sure a chocolate factory and high temperatures go together that well though!- in 33 degrees heat I'd rather have an ice cream!

As Jane's said, it's been pretty quiet on the forum. You've already seen the awards polls I would guess, otherwise, there's a few new threads, but I don't think it'll take you long to catch up. I guess with the summer holidays now upon us that the forum will be a bit quieter than usual with people going away at various times over the next 5-6 weeks or so.

It didn't really go together, the chocolate was yummy though, if a little melted.

Glad you enjoyed your trip nicki_flute - we got back on Saturday having had a really great time, and an eventful one.
* Our trip was 27 hours
* 2 great hotels
* Did 4 concerts, had a boat trip on lake Garda, 2 visits to Venice, including a gondola ride, a trip on the water bus and the ferry, a lovely morning on the beach in our resort near Venice. In fact it was more relaxing than the other tours I've been on.
* We had temperatures of 38C and humidity was so high that we had to wipe the piano keys in between items cos they were wet.
* Eventful things were - missing the ferry at Dover. We were 3 coach loads in our party and 2 coaches caught the ferry but we had to wait till the next one - one of the girls collapsed with heat stroke in the middle of a concert and had to be taken to hospital - the driver of one of the other coaches hit another coach while reversing, panicked, and just drove off spraying glass from one of the windows all over the road, and we had to carry all our equipment on the waterbus in Venice for one of our concerts - amplifiers, keyboards and all!!! Other things were - singing in the sea at Lido de Jesolo, the stunning scenery, the lovely glass, our really helpful coach drivers, feeling a touch of altitude sickness when we did a concert high in the Italian Alps.

Can't wait for the next trip - the kids are absolutely fantastic - so well behaved, helpful and cheerful it's a pleasure to take them.

Wow! Yours sounded amazing but so eventful. Nothing like that happened at my tour, but the county symphony orchestra got stuck up a mountain in France. We managed to get an early ferry at Dover on the way there.

Our coach drivers were a bit rubbish though - they kept getting lost and weren't very friendly.

We're going to Barcelona next year I think
