Why don't you just go to your local record store and buy a cheap blues compilation for £3-£5? Good people to look out for are Reverend Gary Davis, Sonny Terry & Brownie McGee, Muddy Waters, Bessie Smith, BB King etc. That way you can study the subject yourself in more depth.

I got a Muddy Waters Blues CD from HMV quite a while back - it was £2, I think that was in the sale but I don't think it's too expensive anyway. It says 'original artist, original recordings' on the front and has a little label saying 'Disky' on the back - also have a Duke Ellington one and I think they're pretty good! I can't remember the exact songs they play for this module at our school, but I think they use quite a few pieces off the anthology CD's for GCSE and A level if that's any use. Edexcel GCSE has a blues section in it, so there might be some suggestions for good tracks on the syllabus for that.

Moody Blues. They are quite good.
Eric Clapton did a few too. |
