In meerkat's East Midlands thread, I posted an event calendar. I thought it'd be useful to post it again here so you can all note down these dates in your diaries!

January 6th : fluteteacher and livmaestro's Huddersfield band concert

January 13th : petrat's Chester forum concert - hope you all enjoyed it! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

January 27th : meerkat's 1st Harborough playday

February 17th : katyjay and AmandaL's Teddington Adult Learner's concert - glad to hear it was a success! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

February 24th : meerkat's 2nd Harborough playday

March 24th : Forums CD recording session at Egham - from katyjay and barry-clari - a great success - thank you everyone! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

April 10th : katyjay and nicki_flute's Leicester forum concert - well done everyone who performed - a great day!

April 15th: meerkat's 3rd Harborough playday - let's hope the weather on the 5th May is as good as it was on the 15th April! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

May 5th : meerkat's Harborough bandstand gig - this was a really great event, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Pictures are now on the East Midlands thread, on the July 8th link. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

June 2nd : skylark's Leeds forum concert - great venue, great concert! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

July 8th : meerkat's 4th Harborough playday

July 28th : sbhoa's Stalybridge adult learners' concert. - what a lovely day this was, well done everyone!

August 23rd : Flute choir playday organised by andante_in_c in North Hampshire

September 8th : meerkat's 5th Harborough playday

September 22nd : Jo's Woodford forum concert. - A great success! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

November 3rd : meerkat's 6th Harborough playday

Other possible events, to be confirmed:

Andante_in_c's instrumental taster session, currently looking to hold this in Spring 2008, in Farnborough, near Orpington in Kent.

A Gloucestershire playday, from sarah-flute

A Singapore forum concert, from fawnfawn

A Scottish event, from neil.clarinet, YAP, StuMac, katyjay and others.

Possible playdays in the Lancashire area, from Fiona.

A proposed social string quartet in Lancashire, from agapanthus.

I'll also add here Sarah's proposal for a flute ensemble in the Gloucestershire area.

I think that's all for now. Thank you to all of you who are organising these events for us! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I've just spoken to their secretary and pencilled in the day.

They will email me a booking form and I'll send them the deposit after Christmas. This is now an event that can take place.

Cambridge Forums Concert July 14th 2007 at Emmanuel URC, Trumpington Street. As the church has a lovely organ, Organists please take note because a solo performance would be very much appreciated, and if you're prepared to accompany the choir I can do some stunning anthem with them! (My choral conducting is up to that)

The usual other ensembles will be great, directors for them are welcome. (I want to play).

All those who have volunteered to help, please keep in contact and we can allocate tasks so that no one person is over loaded.

Hi Jo

It's been nice to talk to you off-forum (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

July 14th is the weekend of my jazz festival at Whitley Bay so I won't be able to come to Cambridge, I'm afraid. Hopefully we'll get the opportunity to meet up either at one of the East Midlands playdays maybe, or if you get the chance to come to Leeds, you'll be very welcome. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Hope your Cambridge concert goes well.

Driving to Market Harborough is not the problem. That I can do easily. Unfortunately I'm busy on Sundays (hubby being a CofE priest) and being given time off my duties as a mum is hard to come by. I do intend to get to someone elses event. Oh the perils of motherhood in the 21st Century! I hope that when I'm on retreat my hubby finds he really appreciates time with the children without me about. I know I need more time away (trouble is does he?) Oh and I'd love to come to Leeds... without the family in tow.

Only if I put my foot down and tell the family this is my time and I need to do something for me. (But they're very bad at taking me seriously)
