Ben appears to be online, if you like I could probably talk to him...

The thing is i WANT to sort things with Ben and it is making me unhappy that he is ignoring me.

I know that's what you want, and it would be great if you could manage that. However, it sounds like you two need a little space to 'lick wounds' and 'Ignore User' would let you do that. Once you've both calmed down, you could then talk things over from a more rational perspective (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif).

Ben says he isn't talking to you because that only seems to make things worse and you get more upset and won't listen.

Sorry, I don't really know much about how to deal with this, but maybe you should try to sit down and have a civilised, rather unemotional conversation to get things sorted out.

Soph15 - this might sound terribly arrogant, but I'm just trying to help. Something else one learns with time is when to walk away and leave it for another day. It seems like one of these times, and I think making up with Ben should be changed from a short-term to a medium-term goal. Try your best not to dwell on it, do something enjoy if you can, and talk to some other people.

I am sorry everyone but I dont feel I should come here anymore, I dont want other people to feel they have to stop me and Ben arguing when it happens on here. The easiest way for this to happen is without me here. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) It isnt what I want but I am reaching breaking point.

I'm awfully sorry, MrB but I don't find humour in people deliberately seeking to embarrass, wrong-foot, demean, humiliate or irritate others.

I have already stated what I was "deliberately seeking" to do, which is of course none of the things you enumerate.

I apologise yet again to you if you've taken my light-hearted intentions the wrong way.

Perhaps it's the case that had anyone else written those things, you would have laughed, but since it was my name attached to them you are eminently predisposed for whatever reason now to take a completely negative view of anything I post. Demonstrably my track record hereon has been one of support, warmth and humour. You know this as recipient of my first-hand support in the past, so I'm not sure why you would take the opposite view now.

If I had to put it in one word, it's "bemused".

Honestly Sophie, what you and Ben get up to can't be any worse than THAT!!!

I accept your apology. I do assure you that it is not the case that I would have found such things funny if anyone else posted them. It is unfortunate that the times I have noticed postings that I feel are motivated by an inclination to derive humour at my expense they have been by you. If I am reprehensible, it is probably in a failure to speak out where I see such behaviour at another's expense. Offhand I can't think of an example and hope not to find one in future.

Perhaps in the interests of peace on earth and goodwill to all mankind you'll ignore my posts and, in return, I will do likewise.

Soph, please go and enjoy the party.
Most people want you there.

I'd rephrase 'most' as 'pretty much all' (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I do hope that post above doesn't refer to a permanent departure Soph. For now, talk to other people on the forum.

I think it will be a permanent departure, I dont want Ben hating me anymore, and he cant if i am not there (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
