i've started singing opera...The Marriage of Figuro by Mozart ...in italian... that's all right... i do hope that i can do Carmen in the future...but i dunn know french...i only speak cantonese, mandarin, english and german..

Cantonese and mandarin??!! You genius. I do french, german, welsh, latin, italian, maori and african and obviously English, since I'm English but thats it.I sing opera too.Its my first singing 'genre'. |

I'm ... fluent in English and somewhat good at French.
I can have a rudimentary conversation in at least 5 other languages, but I wouldn't say I speak them, I'd just say I remember a few lists of set phrases. I have a little trouble believing that you're fluent in 8 language MBC_Tiger, especially 'Maori' and 'African' since there are roughly 300 different African languages and either 2 or 3 Maori dialects, which are about as different as Mandarin or Cantonese, even though both are 'Chinese' This post has been edited by CMORRIS: Jul 28 2004, 10:16 AM |

to answer your question, missfabflute...i'm a chinese that speak cantonese and i live in hong kong but i study in england... actually...i think my english sucks...i'm waiting for my result for gcses...scary... anyway..MBC_Tiger...u too speak a lot of languages... i hope i can speak more or even learn them...that will be a great help on my music...i hope to get to college (music college)...dummm

hey,missfabflute! I'm the same. I'm a BBC (British Born Chinese) and I can't speak chinese! i need to get myself one of those 'Teach Yourself Chinese!' language pack things with a book and tape! I used to have lessons but I quit! (silly me!) I learn french and a dead language (latin which is -_- ) and I speak english. |
