Good afternoon (presuming that you live in the same hemisphere as me) one and all,

I have recently taken on a couple of students for guitar lessons. I have played (rock) guitar for many years and have only tinkered with classical. Could any-one please recommend a tuition book which would be suitable for the ABRMS guitar syllabus?

So you've never heard of the Royal Mools of Schusic then?

'Enjoy playing the Guitar' by Debbie Cracknell or The Guitarist's Way. Both easily obtainable.

Take a look at The Trinity College Syllabus. They have the exam pieces in one book for each grade and the scales aren't so demanding. Although I generally use ABRSM for woodwind I much prefer Trinity College for Guitar.
