I've just inherited two brass pupils. They have both been learning for about a year and are almost grade one standard. Neither have any books to work through and I just wondered what your thoughts are on the Boosey Method Book. I have books 1 & 2 for flute and my flute pupil is currently on the second book. I think the books are very good and well structured. My main question is, and I think I already know the answer but just want it clarifying, is should I get the kids to buy book one even though they will already easily play a good half of it? One Mum doesn't mind buying it, but I think the other one wasn't too keen. Or should I push them and get them to buy book two, or could it be counter productive. I'm very conscious of the price of music.
The answer is probably book one isn't it?! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush.gif) I'd like your thoughts though please. |

hi i am not a brass player but have found the boosey books for flute really helpful it was the first book i bought it came witha cd and meant i could play at home without anyone else and keep to the timing set .
If your brass pupils came without books maybe just book one to start with till you know at what level they want to play to good luck and keep us posted monkey flute (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) |
