Ask your choirmaster for help with finding music - you may be lucky and find they either have boxes full or know someone who does.

Another idea is the Choral Public Domain Library at www.cpdl.org
I think they have vocal music as well as choral music, but for some reason I can't get the site to load at the moment so can't check for you (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) But it's well worth a look anyway - maybe you could find some choral music with tenor solos or something to use for performing during the course. |

RE composition option:
You cna do choral music, but just call it film and TV and say it's for a documentary on church music or whatever. That's perfectly acceptable. |

Sorry to resurrect such an old thread, but you asked me to let you know so here I am.
My recital is next Monday (8 days time). I talked to the school, and we worked out singing lessons for me at a greatly reduced price. I started them just before Christmas. So, for my recital, I'm singing:
My theme is "sacred music", as suggested. What do you think of that order? I've tried to mix up the different periods and difficulties. Thanks for all of your suggestions before (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif). Regards, CP |

If you want manageable tenor stuff, Vaughan-Williams and Dowland songs are brilliant (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

CP Very best of luck, CP. I'm so glad you got things sorted, and your recital looks fine to me, although I'm not an expert on putting together singing recitals! But you've got a good range of material there with different periods and styles. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/goodLuck.gif) |
