Hey,

Just for those of you stressing abuot exams with Edexcel - if I remember the rough breakdown of marks that my teacher told me correctly...

The Bach Chorale is worth about 12% of A2 (so 6% of WHOLE A level) ..

and the recital+performances is worth 45% of A2 so DON'T be stressing about this silly exam today.

I'm not so good at it either and in fact have NEVER actually completed a whole one until the exam today but there's no point in worrying. Hehe! (Also, according to my teacher you can pass the BC just by getting at least the cadence sections right so yay to that!)

Next week's written exam's worth a lot more but there's lots of opportunities for easy marks so chin up everyone!

I too need an A in Music for uni and I too think it is the subject I'm actually least likely to get an A in! Why do we do it to ourselves??? Hehe.

Anyway..sorry for the rant - just don't like seeing people down/feeling negative (even though I'm Miss Pessimist!)

Good luck everyone!

It's definitely my subject I am least likely to get an A in. But I can't help but feel negative, I didn't get a high enough UMS to feel secure. I think I might have scraped a pass for BarCount. but it really was horrendous (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I'm trying to forget about it...

I'm so not ready.

At this rate, I won't even get to uni.

Yes you will and you know it.

I haven't even looked at the Wagner yet. *Sigh* I have a vague idea what I'm doing Small Ensemble-wise. I'm praying for the Corelli to come up. Listening...bleh, twas never gonig to be my strong point. Ah well.

I'm not sure, if I haven't got an A in History, I won't be going anywhere.

I want one of the Brahms questions to be "Describe the Fugato", and for You can get it if you really want and some more favourable works to come up for pop and jazz.

Now come on nicki, I know you're an 'optimist with experience' but there's no need to think like that!

I know it doesn't sound amazing but there is clearing. Loads of people go through clearing and end up happy where they go, so it's not all doom and gloom. Besides, you never know!

Hehe no...I thought the listening was better than some of the mocks. Not too sure on the anthology, but mainly because I don't know exactly what they're looking for, so just put all the relevant things I could think of and will hopefully get ok marks for it!
We were really disrupted throughout the anthology paper by lots of kids (and even a teacher) screaming and shouting right outside our room... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/angry.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/angry.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/angry.gif) ...so not impressed
Oh well, at least it's over now!

Same here...though about the disruption rather than the exam, and just getting myself more and more wound up about it....so need to breath and calm down!

I thought the listening wasn't too bad either the comparison didn't even have a 6 mark question to answer! The written was ok too, pretty nice questions. Not sure if I wrote enough for section B but I think I included most things.

Hey there..

I also did music A2 earlier. I focused on Brahms (small ensamble) and film & TV (Goldsmith)... The anthology paper wasn't too hard. I'm kinda glad the question about the trio came up for Brahms and tonality for Goldsmith.

The listening, however, kinda made me think twice.. or three times.. Question 3 was murder for me. My weakest point is listening to what chords are where. Hopefully I made up for that in the anthology paper, because I wrote a lot about anything I could think of in Section B (inst. and textures between Williams and Bernstein.. which is lucky because I did that question as a mock so many times).

But yeah, the first question in the listening paper must've been the easiest question I've ever answered in the whole of my music course.

I hope you got what you need in this exam.

Gav.
