I recieved my copy of Pianoworks from OUP, and even though it arrived dogearred!! (thanks mr. postman), I was looking forward to reading through it. But I just think any tutor book that you start with reading three full pages of writing about what you're about to do doesn't really fufill it's purpose. Surely the whole idea is to introduce concepts gradually? I use Bastien books mostly at the minute, and although I don't like the way they teach set hand positions (and you can make sure they don't get too wrapped around these), they do introduce little bits of concepts at the top of the page, and then you have a piece which demonstrates that. I think that works so much better with both my adults and children.
