Piano, flute, violin - no surprises there then!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I remember reading somewhere, some years ago, that the most popular instrument for graded exams was the piano, followed by the violin, with flute and clarinet fighting it out for 3rd and 4th. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Can I remember where it was I saw this? Unfortunately not...

Instrument I've been playing the longest - piano, main and favourite instrument - the soprano cornet!

Flute, then piano (just!)

I have a very unoriginal combination of instruments evidently...

Well...... we're all a bit of a melting pot, aren't we.

Been playing longest - piano
Teacher's dip. - french horn

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif) There are sooooo few of us wee brassys around, aaaahhhhh

Teach - brass (Very FEW pupils I'm sorry to say)
and upper strings - greater numbers each year
and piano/electric keyboard - most pupils

I have very little opportunity to play brass really unless I work away myself. Much more inclined to pop into the music shop and buy piano music, y'know? Bit of the old story, I can sit up at the piano for 5-10 mins now and again and work up a wee piece over time.

ANYWAY...

My piano definitely...I'd hate to be without it now. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif)

Followed by voice, clarinet and recorder. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Don't know.

Flute, by all accounts, as I teach it, and have studied it longest and at the highest level.

But I was disconcerted by someone asking me yesterday whether recorder was my 'first' instrument (having heard me play both flute and recorder).

I'm more relaxed with recorder, certainly.

My favourite? Currently voice, followed by recorder, followed by flute and piano. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif)
