One minute you're happily browsing the internet in the privacy of your home, and the next minute an army of liquid-happy labourers has turned up and started soaking your windows and the surrounding area whilst peering in to see what's going on. They discuss pool parties and spirits as they manifest themselves on your premises, taking note of how mega-untidy your house is and the fact that you really dislike washing up regularly. Proper disses my policy that it's safe to walk round unclad if you're home alone, not that I tend to... These aren't your average window cleaners, either. These are the cutting edge in domestic sci-fi and have a fancy plumbing system in the back of their van that squirts water up to, and sometimes through, the upstairs windows, so that climbing ladders to reach the windows is a thing of the past. They use rather abrasive-seeming brushes that are connected up to this system. Upon their departure, it will appear to an outsider that a monsoon has recently blown o'er...

Sarah, sorry to be nosey, but did you study Russian on it's own or combined with another subject, and did you do an A level in Russian before you went to university, or did you learn it from scratch? I ask because I'm considering studying French at university and would like to combine it with either Italian or Russian, but the Italian or Russian would be from scatch (French at post A level when I get there), and wondered how easy it is to study a language from scratch like that? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
