Quite a few of my friends are boys, but yes, I also get people saying 'You fancy him!' whenever I talk to or smile at one of them. It's really annoying. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

The best way to react to that kind of comment if it's annoying you is to turn round and say something along the lines of 'Yes, he is gorgeous, isn't he, didn't I tell you we're going out!' in a sarcastic voice and generally rise above other people's immaturity.

Lol, good idea! But some people who say that (no necessarily my friends) don't get sarcasm for some random reason. So it might do more harm than good... rumours spread fast around our school...(IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)

I always used to say "oh yes, we're eloping on Saturday! Will you be our witness?" Then you can avoid the inevitable accusations of "lyyyying" from those who are a few crisps short of a packet. The funny thing is, while they seem to want you to be madly in love with your best mates as long as that embarrasses you, most people get rather upset if you go along with it all, or don't bother to contradict them. I'm off to bed. Back to school on Monday. Still haven't finished my IT coursework, or my geography homework. And I haven't sorted out my folders either.

Tomorrow we're going shoe shopping, I've got a pair we're taking back because they don't fit properly, and I have a standby pair of black pumps, just in case.

I've been so bad, and am going to pay the price tomorrow. Dear, dear, dear, I'm so unorganised (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Yep, that was the gist of the text I've just received. He says hello to everyone (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

QUOTE(skylark @ Sep 5 2009, 03:46 PM) *

I've just had the first really enjoyable meal since... well I can't remember when I last enjoyed a meal so much. It's not that it was anything very special, but for once it was *properly salted*, like cooked food used to be before all the anti-salt propaganda. I'd forgotten how good salted food tasted (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif)

I went off the anti-salt lobby anyway when the nurse at my doctor's surgery told me to cut down on salt. I told her that I didn't eat much salt because I never put it on cooked food at the table, don't eat crisps or other highly salted foods (and yes I know there's "hidden" salt in food), but she kept repeating the mantra, even though she didn't have a clue how much salt I used or what my diet was like.

Let's hear it for salt (IMG:style_emoticons/default/hurrah.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/hides.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) Salt brings out the flavour during cooking - it's not at all the same added at the table. People are always telling me that I can add salt, but it can't be taken out; however, that's not really how it works!

I've had quite a busy summer cooking-wise, so my very kind, unemployed son offered to cook for us three days in a row this week to give me a rest. He cooks very well, but won't add salt, and I've missed it quite a lot even if it is supposedly better for my health. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Exactly! It's so different adding it afterwards, and I never do that. I hadn't realised how much I'd missed it in cooking but I'm going to start using it more again now. It can be my one and only vice... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Why are even the 'short' size jeans (e.g. 10S) still too long for my little legs, and have to be rolled up? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

At least you can take them up - having long legs is worse!

I assume you mean too long? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)
