I considered changing to something like "Clarinetitis" to reflect my addiction to all things clarinetty at the moment, when I realsied I was sticking around here for the long term and should have chosen something more imaginative (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) but people know me as DawnF now.....

Please don't - it sounds like some terrible disease acquired from playing the clarinet! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Or alternatively, it almost sounds as awesome as "maledictis" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Can't have that!

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) Not sure I'm understanding you here.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

It is actually the name of a piece we've played at band featuring the clarinets. There's also Clarinet Candy..... But I think that name may already be used.

Probably staying DawnF though. What do you folks reckon????

Never come across that before : how difficult is it, and who's it by? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Quite diicult I think. Lots of runs but not as bad as Clarinet candy. Only played it about twice.... (May have got the name wrong i guess.....) But I think it was that. No idea of composer/arranger sorry.

Why do my tea-towels seem to repel water rather than absorb it?!?! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

I bought some like that once, I think the fibres were too closely woven or something, so the water didn't have anything to be absorbed into! I threw them out and bought new ones instead! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Are they new? It's usually a good idea to wash tea towels before first use, as they put something starchy into them which helps them look good in the shop, but repels water.

Any sign of your loan yet, by the way?

Oh, ok maybe I should wash them then. It's really weird - they're about the most unabsorbing thing I've ever seen. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)

No loan yet. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Make sure no fabric softener goes in when you wash them. I have been involved in the chemistry of fabric softeners since the first 'Comfort' in 1970. A fab soft definitely reduces water adsorption, yet most people add them for hand and bath towels !
