I now understand why I've never felt a desire to learn guitar, drums or bass... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) I've just returned home from going to my boyfriend's band practice...I love them all dearly but goodness me, they're loud! I was puzzled, because I thought you played the school bass (as in a double bass not bass guitar) and was wondering about the sudden dislike of it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) I dabble with the bass guitar, whether or not I actually play it in the standard use of the word is highly debatable Flossie (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) I actually really like the above instruments, but they're just so LOUD, I can't actually imagine having to practice something that makes such a noise constantly (granted, they're a heavy metal band, so I guess being loud is sort of expected! Why do people have to die? It's so unfair. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I've been asking that a lot lately. It's not fair at all. But my pragmatic side says that if people didn't die, the world would be very overcrowded, and besides, who wants to live forever anyways? |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) My father died at the end of last week and, although it might sound strange, in a way I'm kind of happy about it because I honestly think it was what he wanted and I'm glad he didn't have to struggle on for ages without having any quality of life. |

Sincere condolences Flossie.
We both lost a parent in last couple of years, and I also think it was in the end a mercy for both of them, as they wouldn't really have had much quality of life. But it still very sad when it happens . |

Sorry to hear your news, Flossie (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Hugs to both you and Celeste.
Meanwhile, in North West Surrey, police are now confirming that the loud crash and torrent of expletive reported at around 11.30 this morning were not due to the imminent invasion of the French/Germans/Argentinians/Martians (delete as appropriate, depending on your choice of Sunday newspaper or HG Wells novel) but were, in fact, the result of a major book slide in the music room of one Mrs K T Jay. All instruments known to be present at the site are safe. The only casualty identified so far is a small volume of Italian Arias which suffered a broken spine. But excavation works are still ongoing amidst the wreckage...... |

Thinking of you Flossie. You are right that sometimes a quiet release is best.
Today is sad for me too - the funeral of a friend who died suddenly and unexpectedly at the very young age of forty-one. We can't come back to England for the funeral but I'm a great believer in supporting thoughts and prayers for those left behind. Take care of yourself Fossie. |

OK, it appears I'm listening to a lot of ska/2 Tone at the moment.
I blame Juniper. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |
