Well the date for re-admission of my end of course assignment is 29th March. So got to avoid distractions, eg Piano, trumpet, forums etc ......... hmm this is going to take some discipline!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) All the best with that (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) , but don't neglect your lovely shiny trumpet... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) methinks ten hours on a train next week may come in handy (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) What do the other passengers do when you start practising the trumpet? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) Dance? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) I LOVE this idea, I think we should arrange a playing and dancing day on a train sometime (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Yes please! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Tell you what I'll test it out next Monday. If I don't get arrested it's a goer! :-D Just think, it could be a way of getting a nationwide forum event!! Lol All the best with that (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) , but don't neglect your lovely shiny trumpet... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) methinks ten hours on a train next week may come in handy (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) You know that two-tone klaxon trains use? You could have a part-time job there (at least for the duration of your journey). Haha love it!! :-D |

I've been nominated for Chair of my Gospel Choir. I really wanted a committee position, and was like "if anyone wants to nominate me..." but I was thinking ordinary member. Now I'm rather worried. I work SO much, I really can't let my course suffer, and I was picked cause there's no one else, which means many positions are unfilled, trebling my work.
I want to do it... but I don't want to do it and then epically fail at it (ruining it for everyone) or fail at my academic work (ruining my life for me). Dilemma! |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) I once shared a train carriage with someone playing a treble recorder (badly) and it was one of my journeys from ###### (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif) I had got up at 5.00 am, taught seven hours and had fallen asleep on the train home. I was woken up by what I thought was someone's mobile phone but it kept "ringing". Eventually I looked around to try and work out who wasn't answering their phone and saw someone playing a recorder. He wasn't even busking for money, just playing well known pieces out of tune and with the wrong rhythms. |

If I did decide to have a go It would be with my trusty silent brass! Lol |

I'm sure you'll fit it in if you really want to do it, lucky. After all, you were complaining that people hadn't invited you out the other day, so you must have some spare time! It will be good for your CV and I bet you'll enjoy doing it once you've got used to the idea. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

It's a bit different doing things at night than doing admin-type things for a choir... but Lucy, I really think you should go for it. You'd be perfect. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) You'd have a vice chair, right? So if it got too much you could swap, maybe...
(I was going to go for EdSoc chair but decided to put it off for a year...) |

Well the thing is, there weren't enough people nominated/willing to fill all the positions, so no Vice-Chair. I'm not sure I like the idea that rather than laughing about the rubbish parts of Gospel Choir, I'll have to worry about them and come up with strategies to combat them... I think I'll do it though, I feel better this morning about everything. Though I'll probably back down if someone else gets nominated.
