I swam 2km (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I wonder why swimming is so much harder than other exercise? I can easily cycle 15-20km but was really tired after the swim.

Well done you! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I think it's something to do with how swimming uses nearly every muscle in your body, or something-it's definitely very tiring!

There's that, and the fact that you're often colder in the water than you realise. Also, you don't notice how much you actually sweat while swimming - I always get so dehydrated after swimming, despite swallowing half the pool in the process (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Probably not the case with you but definitely with me that if you have a poor technique you can work very very hard and not get very far. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) I'm getting better now I'm going four times a week but still regularly get overtaken by pensioners (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I am sick of police sirens.

There's a lot happening police-wise in your area right now, isn't there? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Apparently he's now made threats to the wider public as well. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) They've arrested two more people for assisting him, and I'm wondering if that's what all the noise was. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) It's quietened down again now - for the moment anyways. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

Had a call from BT about having broadband from them......
Since all the connection problems I have are down to what's happening at the BT end of things how am I supposed to believe that they can give me a more reliable connection?
Unless it's a marketing ploy and they regularly cause problems on the line if you are not getting broadband from them to try to make you want to change? In which case I STILL don't want to change to BT!

That's interesting (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I'm on a health kick...I used to be 10stone exactly about a year ago, and it's crept up to 10 stone and 8 pounds, so I'm feeling a bit big and also just a bit unhealthy: I've spent a ###### of a lot of time sat at a desk this academic year, and have been utterly snowed under with schoolwork, having gone to an extraordinarily academic school for 6th form, and doing biology, chemistry and maths! So that's meant that I prioritised music in my spare time so I've probably not being doing the exercise I should have been and also I think I eat more at home on study leave (my parents are good cooks (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)) Anyway, I'm attempting to lose some weight over the summer (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (you should probably expect to have many posts from me along these lines now (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif))

Definitely a great idea (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Although I'm a *little older* (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush.gif) I've recently found I have a minor problem with my heart so I'm on a bit of a health kick too (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I'm planning on swimming another 2km tomorrow (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Yesterday I managed a mile, because I didn't know I could do the extra 400m (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Also, my mum has very kindly said she'll go on a health kick with me, so tomorrow we're going to the supermarket to buy nice healthy things (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Much nicer with somebody else. Definitely remember the nice in the healthy things. There are some great fruits in season at the moment. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
