I am going out this weekend with my cornet to accompany the carols, and want to have music to read as there are too many for me to remember. I have input all the 25 carols but can only do one carol per page/file. Each one is only two or three lines long, and what I really want to do is fit three or four on to each A4 page -- but I can't find how to do this.
If necessary I will print them all out on separate sheets and then literally cut and paste, but I'm sure there must be a simple answer. I have only just started with Sibelius and am a bit overwhelmed ... have ordered a book on it but it won't be here in time. All help gratefully received! |

Do you mean you want to add bars onto the end? To do that, you click on the double bar at the end so it's highlighted purple, then go to Create > Bar > Other and select the number of bars you'd like. They should appear at the double bar on the music (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Then you can copy and paste your other carols onto the end of the first one.

If you go to "Layout" on the top menu and scroll down to "Format", it gives you several options and one is "Make Into Page". I would decide how many carols you can fit onto a page without it all being squashed, select the bars you want on the page and then use the above option. Hope that makes sense!
Select the bar at the end of each carol and press enter to make it start on a new line. |

Many thanks - I have now got a bit further and fitted several carols on to each page. I'll try and adjust the spacing between each piece better but it doesn't matter too much if I can't. The main thing now is to sort out the key signatures since each pasted carol has adopted the sig of the previous one, so there are now masses of accidentals! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) Aaarrrrgh - can't wait for the book!
Edit: now got it sorted and laid out to my satisfaction - whew! I think I will add slurs by hand to save time, though (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush.gif) . |

Glad you got it sorted. Slurs aren't too bad with sibelius. You just click the note you want the slur to start on, and then type the letter "s" and a slur appears. If you want the slur to continue for more notes, keep clicking the space bar key and it should extend further.
All the best for your carols this weekend (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Thanks! I do sort of know how to do slurs but it is really quicker by hand, and I am running out of time now. In fact I probably won't bother at all.
I'm just wondering how I will keep warm if the weather continues like this - freezing fog and *bitterly* cold! Time to dig out the thermal undies, methinks! |
