Having a musical week ahead. Tonight I will have flutelesson (hopefully), a little rehersal for some christmas charols on wednesday (should not be a big deal) and first rehearsal with my former pianoteacher for my exam next spring on thursday. I am looking forward to it.

Sounds great! Have a good week x

My happy; it's half term here this week. Got all my teaching on one day tomorrow so some precious days with the kids.
Time for daughter to perfect her grade 2 piano pieces for her exam (!!), me to do some practice too for Friday, and then we are going to go ice skating (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

How many pupils do you have now? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

10 across all the instruments and theory, with another 3 waiting to start for various reasons. Mostly theory/sightsinging still although 2 waiting to start are violin. After half term I'm going to go into some schools to do a taster with the year 3 classes, hopefully something will come of that too.
5 hours teaching tomorrow (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) now if that could just be every day.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Thank you and the same to you. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Where are you going to go ice skating in Gib?
I am looking forward very much to the rehearsals. The first one will be with a colleage who plays tenorsax and alto recorder. I don't know nothing about her abilities, but I think it will be fun to just play together.
And I am sooo nervous to play again with my former piano teacher. The last time we did it was in june before the masterclass, and since then my tone changed so much that I am really looking forward to her feedback. Beside that she was sooo lovely on the phone. Asked some things about this exam and the ones coming afterwords and then she said: "OK, but first let us sit grade 7!" And on sunday she is joining me for a concert played by Tine Thing Helseth. That will be fun too.

I already had some of my students before I dropped the day job. The others are slow coming. Generally by talking to people!! And some I'm bartering lessons with too LOL

Tenor viol sounds like my week last week!

Actually I feel incredibly sad but the course at the Brum Conservatoire was very fabby so that counts as a 'happy' (I think).

Sorry to hear that you're sad, Cyrilla. Coming 3rd in the Member of the Year category isn't the end of the world, you know! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Seriously, hope things look better today.(IMG:style_emoticons/default/thereThere.gif)

A pupil who had practiced really hard in the holidays! Not a usual good practiser so I'm so pleased as her progress was obvious! She's done her Gr 2 clarinet and she's beginning to learning some higher clarinet notes and we hadn't managed to get a C in the lessons and today we got a C, a c sharp and a D!

Getting a job offer by email this afternoon, after nearly nine months out of work, and looking forward to signing on for (hopefully) the last time on Friday.

Happy to bed? Very!

katica - I can't WAIT for Cyrilla's response to THAT!!!!!!

ROFL (for various reasons.......)

Giggle-Bag x

I don't know what to say, really!!!!!!!!!

Other than (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

NO idea why my response caused QUITE such mirth but... Phew! Realised I could so easily SERIOUSLY have put my foot in it... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I can now happily dye my hair the rest of my life without having to worry about getting pregnant and having to put up with grey hairs for months, as of 10 days ago. Posting on here has been desultory as post-op recovery is bit of a roller coaster... so I thought I'd take a look in here for cheering up...

(by the way MY own very grey-haired (and proudly undyed) sister had bit of a shock last year... 45 years old, always declared she never wanted any kids, was utterly gobsmacked to find herself pregnant. She'd actually gone to her GP half thinking it might be menopause! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) ... now difficult getting her off the subject of her daughter (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Makes up for aunty katica making a complete bog of it as far as having kids is concerned...)

Delighted by lots of nice news - very glad that parent-care calvary has had some bright spots for lottie and tonedeafmum, Little Elf is joining the happy band of aunts, pianoeater's audition success (where will you be going to, pianoeater), mel2's wolf whistles, principal4's job offer and other general cheeriness.

Hope Cyrilla was thoroughly cheered up by Bag-invasion and not minding smelly-sounding consequences...
