I feel please with myself for spending an hour on my theory this morning and after a break and a bite to eat have just spend an hour on my scales - including half the arpeggios. I am happy I feel its beginning to make sense and seem easier.

Singing Louis Vierne's wonderful Messe Solennelle at church yesterday morning - a rarely heard and much underrated work in my view.
There was a point when the Organist could barely see the Conductor through the smoke, but that just made it even better. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) An aquired taste I know, but we enjoy it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) SB |

A lovely parade in the warm sunshine for the Queen's Diamond jubilee, followed by 3 lovely pupils (including a new pupil who did really well (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ) and then a gorgeous curry cooked by hubs....now what more could I want?

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Just the one, but it sounded magnificant. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) There was a point at the climax of the Kyrie when a Metro train passed through the tunnel beneath the church. This was perfectly timed as the slight rumble made it feel as if a 64' had been drawn. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I think I might try to request the Vierne on Classic FM, but somehow I expect they will just play Widor or Faure instead. A refund from the warm-hearted and public spirited people who provide me with gas and electricity. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/woot.gif) And it's not April 1st? We'll have to spend it before they realise their mistake.

Oooo I love Chanson de Matin (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Playing this as a clari / piano piece with a pupil!
You two seem to have some great music in your band. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

I like it too, have accompanied daughter and wife playing violin. (But not at the same time!)
Also Chanson de Nuit, and Salut d'Amour- similar pieces |
