A really good thing has happened to me and a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Suddenly middle-age doesn't seem so bad after all!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Not sure if I am allowed to post this so please remove if not!

I discovered this site:

http://www.kiva.org/

Basically it allows anyone to get involved with microfinancing - you can lend someone in Uzbekhistan the money to buy a goat (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) . It did make me happy as it seems such a good, positive use of the internet for once!

Oh, and if it is your first time on the site you can try out a loan for free!

Being woken up at about 5.30am by the tweeting of little birdies.
We have a starling who nests under one of our roof tiles (we've checked the loft - she doesn't come in, so it must be a tiny little nest between the tile and the roof!), and I've been waiting and waiting and now the first little ones of the year have hatched (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

No workmen today. After a week of not having the house to ourselves our very nice electrician has rung to apologise that he can't come today. It is rare to be thankful when workmen don't turn up but we have had an overdose this week!

My happy - had a great party last night for the band. It was someone's 50th, and every member turned up! He was overwhelmed and lost for words (he just expected a few drinks) which is a very rare occurance!

And I really enjoyed playing with the Sevenoaks Symphony Orchestra on Wed evening - under the baton of the son of my old conductor from my childhood!! What a suprise!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Spending a little time with Alpha Male Jazz Cat (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif)

Mind you, a 60 mile trip in 40 minutes....well, you do the maths....the equation is :

darned lethal motorbike + mid-life crisis = more time with Bagpuss (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (to the power of n)

Managed to obtain approx ?76 worth of music for ?22 as a reputed Leeds music retailer is closing its doors and selling everything off. Amongst a good deal of organ repertoire, I got a right big book about the art of improvisation. I'm not sure if the book is in any order or if the author was merely making it up as he went along...
