never got there before (barry, you're always there. what happened?) I'm not always there (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) , but I was watching the ritual humiliation of poor old Engelbert... Well not always, but the majority of the time you are (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I was just tired when i wrote that about 11 hours ago. |

Overhearing two teenagers enthusing about Tallis. How heartening! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) The most fabulous day weather-wise in the Back of Beyond. We rarely get it so good here. A lovely walk along the beach. LOTS of frogs in our garden pond! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) (By the way, what colour are frogs supposed to be?) Not totally falling apart whilst playing in church today. |

Telemann-Suite-For-Alto-Recorder-And-Bagpuss (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) x Ooooo well done Bag! Reminds me - yesterday the reception class at Tuff Skool did something amazingly well, and I said, 'Give yourselves a pat on the back'. Like Pavlov's dogs, with one voice and action they all patted themselves on the back whilst chanting, 'WELL DONE, ME'. This is obviously a school tradition that I knew nothing about! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I also got a compliment for my piano playing today at school (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) Just a pity it's clarinet I teach there, which I didn't get a compliment for ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/clarinet.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) Must try harder... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) The lack of complimenting on your clarinet playing may well be because they know you as a clarinet player so to them, your playing the clarinet well is "routine" - in university, horn was my instrument - and all the music profs knew me as a horn player - and one day I accompanied a fellow horn player on the piano and I swear! I never had so many congratulations that day - on my (mediocre) piano playing! Hope that makes sense... not meaning to suggest that your clarinet playing is not worthy of compliments. |

I've been out on my bike (IMG:http://www.tokyocycle.com/bbs/images/smilies/fiets853.gif)
It's been a while since you've seen me say that (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) It has been quite honestly months since I last went out on my bike. When winter got too cold I stayed indoors, and then when it warmed up a bit (but was still dark in the morning) I started the Couch to 5K running programme. I don't like running, it turns out, but very please with self for sticking it out and actually doing it. But now it is warm and light and my only excuse was anxiety due to not having been on the bike in so long. Nice little 7.5 mile ride (bit longer than initially planned, because it was soooooo good to be out!) at a reasonable speed. Very pleased indeed, and have the four day weekend ahead to fiddle with the indexing of the front gears whcih isn't quite right. |
