Doing silly things to the MG ready to go drag racing ...
(IMG:http://i1119.photobucket.com/albums/k625/jnmusicphotos/Factory%20V8%20number%203%20%20LRT802P/CBonnet16.jpg) Even though OH will be taking this one.

I'm taking a decidedly more 'classic' looking classic car ...

Very nice, Pixie. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I was walking down the street just now, when a young man at the bus stop accosted me with the words:

"'Ere, 'ow d'ya spell charble?"

"Err...'Charble'?"

"Yeah..charble."

"I don't know what you mean.."

"Yeah ya do...'charble'."

I could see he was sending a text, so I asked him what the sentence was.

"I wanna tell me mate I was in charble wiv the cops las' night." (Followed by an audible tut!)

"Oh..it's t.r.o.u.b.l.e"

"Yeah..that'll do. Ta mate."

LOL primrose!!!

For me - getting through the last week at Guildhall. It's always enormously stressful - tired children, small room becoming increasingly hot and airless as it's stuffed to the gunnels with parents watching classes...no break because of the Y6 Leavers' Concert...spending hours planning the lessons down to the nth degree so that all goes well with parents watching...spending more hours writing individual cards to the leavers, wrapping up tuning forks as leaving presents, cutting up pages of stickers...staggering in with four bottles of wine and two plants for a lovely cello teacher who's leaving...staggering back again with bags of pressies...

I'm just not very good with stress (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) . Less than five hours' sleep didn't help, either..

But I have to say I really enjoyed listening to all the Y6 leavers play - I never usually get the chance and have no idea what they are like on their instrument! They were all fab, with a couple of really outstanding ones. I didn't realise that one boy in my class has Grade 8 distinction (violin) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) .

The highlight for me was a chamber group playing Dvorak - so sensitive, so mature - amazing, for 10 and 11 year olds.

We had no hot water this morning. The plumber has come and fixed it - taking about 10 minutes and not making any charge (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

My car has been making an odd noise for a few weeks. My car mechanic had a look, took it out for a drive, worked out what the noise was and that it's just an annoying noise and not a sign my engine is about to fall out or anything. As I'm getting a new car in 8 weeks or so, not something to worry about (and I only drive on two days of the week, so that's only 16 drives!) No charge for this consultation (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Also, I made the two phone calls that got these things done which is an achievement all of itself at the moment (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Though to be honest, my cat has been making a strange noise for a few years (she's been with us nearly five years now, and has an amazing repertoire of vocalisations. Not to mention being a world-champion snorer!)

Being invited to hear the improvement in reading of a child I worked with for a few weeks at the start of the school year. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

And having a child reply to the question 'What do you like best about working with your Reading Helper?' with 'She is fun'.

I have had a really, really bad day teaching wise, with a head teacher's rudeness reducing me to tears..... but we have just found out DD1 got distinction in her Gr 8 flute- taken on the same day as an English A2- 2 weeks after she told me she didn't want to do the exam as she was going to fail.....

Can't quite believe that.....but i am soooo pleased for her....... Really unexpected.....131.....
