I now have a nice clean and tidy conservatory!!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/party2.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/woot.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/party2.gif)
It's only taken myself and my husband (and a large amount of hinderance and interruption from the kids) most of the day to sort it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) We had work done in the house starting in the Autumn and running up to Christmas so it got full of all sorts of things in boxes. It then accumulated a large amount of other stuff (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) and we ignored it for the winter months as it's not used much then anyway. Well today was sort-out day and what a mammoth task it was!!!!!! I now feel (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif) and (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) but also (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) , (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) and (IMG:style_emoticons/default/hurrah.gif) as it's finally done. Not making too much of a mess of playing the organ in a service. I managed not to fall off the stool or play too many verses of any of the hymns. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
Also we had banana fritters for supper. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) One of our organists recently cut 'The head that once was crowned with thorns' short by a verse and the expressions on the faces in the congregation were priceless. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) The mistake was very obvious because I'd just picked my flute up and breathed in ready to start the last verse (I add flute to hymns as and when it suits the mood and words, as well as playing for the music group songs) and the vocalists were very obviously just about to come in - and then the organ just stopped! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) There was a brief stunned silence and then the leader did the blessing as if it was intended all along. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Nothing stops Methodists from singing! |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Yes, you're right, though I think it's not just the Methodist Church. Many of the churches closing are the smaller ones in little villages, but the truth is that the under fifties are not well represented in most Methodist churches, which doesn't augur well for the future. There are not enough ministers in the pipeline, so that as ministers retire some circuits are unable to replace. A sign of the times, I fear! Still, Christianity has had its ups and downs for centuries now, and even if the traditional Church founders I hope the house churches will live on. |

Listening to my son playing his clarinet whilst I was relaxing in a long, lazy bath at midday! Oh, the joys of being on holiday! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
