I just burst out laughing again, imagining people made out of chicken and chilli (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rofl.gif)

Yes, they're really quite hot... Ooooh, bad joke. I just recited all that to my sister (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

That was terrible, but still strangely amusing (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Running a fabby session on the CT ABRSM course in Southend-on-Sea!

Lovely group of people - SO responsive, interested and enthusiastic (and nearly all male!). I believe this is the first time an entire music service's instrumental staff have all done the CT course en masse.

And one lady came up to me at the end with shining eyes, declaring that she had had 'a Damascus moment' during the session...

You must still be on a high, Cyrilla. What an enlightened music service - I can hardly believe it!

Aw, thanks, Suepea, yes, I am!

I think other music services (Swindon, for one) have sent their staff on the CT course - around 5 people a year - but not the whole lot together, because of the cost.

Being given a couple of new pieces to work on for my violin lessons:

Bach - extracts from Orchestral Suite #3 (in Eta Cohens Violin Method)
Tansy Davies - Woodsmans Echo (from Spectrum for Violin)

I'm looking forward to the Davies piece. I'm not so keen on the idea of murdering Bach for a couple of months (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I am one of the few pepole that work for Southend-on-Sea music Services that have already done the CT course (2004/5 - we had our certificates presented to us by Prince Charles - one of the proudest days of my life).

I remember when we had our session with Cyrilla I was scared stiff! The thought of singing in front of everyone filled me with horror! Wouldn't mind too much now.

Went to a really good Lieder Workshop in which my singing teacher was participating. She was amazing, of course, and the guy who did the workshop was... something else. No doubt many people here will have heard of him, so I won't name names, but he was hilarious. Plus, I kind of foresaw the likely cancellation of one of my friends, and thus found someone else to go with. I was quite proud of my foresight when the friend did indeed cancel.

Also, I am currently 784 words through my 1000 word French essay. It's incredibly cheering, as I'm really, really not used to such short essays, so I feel like I have a long hard slog ahead of me having hardly written anything... And keep suddenly realising that I'm practically done.
