I wasn't sure where to put this (scream thread was tempting!) but settled on here in the end....I'm supposed to be playing recorders in the cathedral on this Tuesday (ie 3 days away). (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) It had been mentioned by someone in our group a few weeks ago, but I hadn't heard anything more since so half assumed it wasn't happening afterall. Also, now it turns out that we're supposed to be actually playing a piece as well as just accompanying hymns, which we've had a grand total of about 10 mins practise for, so will be basically sight-reading. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/eek.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/eek.gif) If all goes well, it should be a great experience though. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Hope it goes really well, Sarah. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) And you have all tomorrow to practise, don't you? Playing in the cathedral will be a wonderful experience.

I don't have the music. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) Fingers crossed, we'll get a bit of time to practise before the service.

My clarinet works (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Always useful for tonight... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Awwh, has Barry's clari (see what I did there? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)) been poorly?

You mean like Fran's piano!? Or indeed Clavi's cembalo - on the other hand! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif)

Indeed! I'd love to know what a cembalo is...it sounds like a foreign goat, to me! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Watching Carry on Nurse. Much gentler in its comedy than the later films, unexpected performances by people like Joan Hickson, and actors like Kenneth Williams and Kenneth Connor acting really well, before their Carry On characters became caricatures (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

We've got a new housemate... always a good chance to get to know someone. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Crotchety Mum - The only Carry On film I've seen is Carry on Camping. Is that one much later?

No. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) He was on the floor above me, but moved into a spare room on my floor (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) and the new person has moved into his old room.

That sounds good. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) She'll probably be in need of a nice, friendly, caring person like you if she's new to the UK.

I fixed my DAB radio. I thought I might have to replace it, but it's fine now.

Carry on Nurse was 1959 and Carry on Camping was 1970 (I've just checked) and there's a massive difference between them (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Good luck with the new housemate (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
