We're always getting emails about scholarships and awards through, that I tend to ignore... But today I got one, which was an award for original prose (creative or academic), and an email from my former tutor, recommending that I enter. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) So that made me smile. And are you going to? Maybe. I'm not sure what I'd enter, but since someone thinks I'm in with a chance I'll probably pick whichever essay I've written that's got the best marks... Although that's written on a fairly commonly discussed writer. Dilemmas, dilemmas. I'm just pleased that someone I like and respect thought I was good enough. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) That's such a lovely feeling! Everyone has doubts about their own ability at times, and it's a great boost when someone you admire thinks you cut the mustard. Last night, actually: sneaking in on a rehearsal of the National Symphony Orchestra and Choir: Fauré Requiem, Berlioz Rákóczi March, Kodály Háry János Suite. Yum yum.
Then message from teacher to say he wants me to learn the Schumann Romances. Oh terrifying but happy prospect! |

My Mum telling me she is content. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Considering you were a bit concerned about her over the last weekend, that really is good news, and it is no wonder it has made you happy today. I hope it keeps up for her and you. |

Then message from teacher to say he wants me to learn the Schumann Romances. Oh terrifying but happy prospect! They were the first Oboe pieces I ever accompanied! Lovely pieces! Yes! The piano part too. Not just plain accompaniment. |

[He is six and a half months, by the way (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) ] |
