A really really enjoyable playday with Oldnotes - trying out a LOT of new music. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/clarinet.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piano.gif)

Hey that's brilliant- I know I don't know you at all, Dawn, but when I went to pick up music from oldnotes he mentioned how he had played a lot with you and that it was a lot of fun. He said that you were both going to try reading the Poulenc Sonata and I told him I thought it was a lovely piece.

Anyway... err... hi! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/wave.gif) hi (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Not quite got onto the Poulenc yet but I think we will (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Two things have made me happy today-the first was singing (for the last time before our choir director leaves! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) ) with the sixth-form choir for the Mayor, and the second was attending a lecture from Professor George Alberti about diabetes! Really fascinating (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Having a 'taster session' on two instruments, trumpet and violin. Both hard to play, but I definitely want to learn one or the other come September. Now I just have to choose.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

Violin. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif)

It's also great for developing a good ear, which would enhance your clari and bassoon. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Whats made me happy today? Firstly, it was our 34th wedding anniversary (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) Secondly, we've been to the most lovely concert in a local church: Bach Mass in G minor and lots of Telemann, including the German Magnificat, and the concerto for recorder and bassoon. The latter was played by a 14 year old on recorder and a 15 year old bassoonist, and they were fantastic! It's been a really happy day. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

It was last evening, we (4 part a capella group) sang at a joint concert with a brass quintet. Introduced some new songs which went down very well, I performed "Silent Worship" as a solo, and the finale was "Sing a Song of Sixpence" with the brass ensemble accompanying. The audience loved it and wanted it again! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/chorale.gif)

Actually making progress in maths today, and not wanting to throw my books/calculator/desk out the window in frustration (I've been posting freqeuntly in the arghhhh thread about the same topic). Nice to finally feel that my hard work is getting me somewhere, given the exam is on Friday... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
