I have a new baby. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) In ebony, and it sounds and feels beautiful. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) Shame I can't play it for more than a few minutes as it needs playing in. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Excellent (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) You do realise recorders are addictive, don't you... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/yay.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I've only got 3 descants now. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) (plus my sopranino, trebles and tenor) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif) It's only a small collection... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

It is so beautiful. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) None of the others came even close to matching its sound and the way it played...

even the largest collection was small at 1st!

What did you buy?

My neighbour knocking at the door to ask for something, and also mentioning that she thought I was playing a CD! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

What piece(s) were you playing?

The first day after breaking up from school! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/hurrah.gif) We went to Snowshill Manor with friends and had a wonderful time. (Clavicembalo, is that where you went and didn't like it? We thought it was a bit different and enjoyed looking at it all.)

I'm afraid you may have me mixed up with someone else; firstly, I have never actually heard of the place and secondly I don't recognise expressing disdain about anywhere in particular. Sorry! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

Sorry about that - I'm sure someone mentioned visiting the place. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) I'll see if I can search it out.

Improvised 'Watermelon Man' in front of an audience at today's Woodford workshop, and didn't laugh, cry, crack up or get lost.

Woh! That's surely the holy grail of music playing - to be mistaken for a CD?

At the moment I'm more likely to be asked if that was my daughter playing the piano (she's 4).

I take it as meaning that I've improved a bit, even if I haven't noticed myself... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)

What did you buy?

It's a Moeck Rottenburg descant in ebony. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I got it for the old price, but it was still more than I'd intended to spend. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush.gif) It has exactly the sound I wanted and really stood out from the others, so I knew that if I got one of the other recorders I'd still be thinking about this one and that I therefore probably wouldn't enjoy the recorder as much. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif)

QUOTE(eldatom @ Jul 24 2010, 06:25 PM) *

Enjoy, I love the recorder, are you taking any to summer school with you?

Yes I'm taking my recorders with me. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) This will include my new one as I'll need to carry on playing it in.

Very nice. I've ended up spending more than planned a couple of times for the same reason you have - I've never regretted the decision.

Have fun playing it

A remarkably fast recovery from yesterday's illness - insect bites all 4 of 'em bigger than my hand now but temperature normal again and an invite from a dear friend to go and see the Tempest at Ham House this evening when I was just feeling well enough to say yes.

Glad you're feeling better (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) A young friend of mine had some similarly huge insect bites around this time last year that resulted in nasty infections - is whatever it is they pass into the blood stream nastier than usual at this time of year?

Hope you enjoyed the Tempest - what a lovely setting (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
