Doing all the manual major scales & arpeggios, chromatics, contrary motions, dims and doms, then stopping to eat pizza, then doing all the minor stuff and pedal stuff, then stopping for pudding, then doing pieces. :-) The novelty of being able to practice at home instead of 20 miles away isn't going to wear off any time soon... singing/fiddling all day in an empty house when I should've been writing an essay. I should be guilty. Oh well.

I was at the stables and leading in a lesson I normally don't enjoy, but the pupils were transformed today and I enjoyed it immensely despite having to run very fast! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

2 pupils 'got' the rhythm in their piece after I made up silly words about builders' mess and rugby teams to help them!

Seeing lots of happy and excited kids with their dads out to watch the football in Manchester. We stayed in a hotel right opposite the field last night and there were several at breakfast this morning, all wearing their red shirts and chattering madly about the game. It was so nice to see them doing something good together.

It was so nice to see them doing something good together. Funny you should say that. I had almost the same experience yesterday, but it was me (Mum) taking my son to a football match: the first time the two of us had been able to go together to watch our mutual passion, Arsenal. I had never expected to be in this position, as our eldest two sons were not interested in football, and No. 3's interest has only dated back two or three years. It was a very, very special moment.
