I got the grade 2 book today but none of the pieces particularly stood out. A friend is helping me. I am mad!

I knew there was a journal article with my name on it in the works (not written by me, but I contributed a lot to the background work)... it was submitted and accepted ages and ages ago.

I randomly googled my name today and there it was!!!!

So exciting. For me, anyway. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush.gif)

Spending the day at Birmingham Conservatoire moderating the Kodaly Elementary Exam being taken by a group of the students there.

Lovely students, who had clearly worked so hard - and beautiful music-making by them - and they were very definitely the products of some excellent teaching by my friend Moo...

AND the journey wasn't too bad - only 7 hours of driving (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) .

Met with a friend and her two year old daughter for lunch. Afterwards we went to the river and with some bread I had brought with me for the very purpose, we fed the ducks. Which was lovely, I think I enjoyed it as much as the two year old. Why are there so many things you are supposed to stop enjoying once you grow up?!

I loved having young children for many reasons, but one of the delights was being able to make sandcastles, sand cars, etc "for them" on the beach without looking an idiot! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

About six weeks ago I finally caved and admitted that my jeans were ever so slightly uncomfortably snug, and we went out and bought the next size up.
About four weeks ago after a bit of Sensible Chat with my husband, I decided it was time to think about maybe possibly losing some weight ("again" - because the last time I did this was actually 10 years ago, and it's taken all that time to creep back up to scary-number).
And now my new jeans are hoooge! Which is not what has made me happy. What has made me happy is that I can comfortably get not only myself in these jeans, but four recorder headjoints warming up nicely in the waistband. Brilliant!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
