I think it's the woodwind finalists battling it out tomorrow (Monday). Tuesday is strings, Wednesday brass, Thursday percussion and Friday, pianists.

Did anyone see the Young Musician 30th anniversary programme this evening on BBC2?

I giggled when Nicholas Daniel said he's always been a follower of fashion, they then cued 'shower scene music' from Psycho and flashed up images of Nicholas in some truly hideous outfits. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Yes, I saw it.... very interesting. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) It made me look this colour (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ill.gif) with envy (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) It'll be great to watch the whole thing this year since I know when it's starting. Thanks for the info. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) Awww no - I missed it! I really meant to watch it too... OH never tells me these programmes are on because he hates them! (He's the only one who reads the Radio Times (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) ) I was too busy reading the newspaper to notice the television!

And we're so backward here we only have four channels so we don't get BBC4 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Is the final not on BBC2 next week sometime? I really don't want to miss that.

I ought to pay more attention to the TV (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) (no I don't think so)

It will be on iPlayer after it's finished, unless it's actually displayed live on the website. So going to watch it; good hopes for either of the clarinetist!

I know nothing about woodwind playing but that was not the result I was expecting (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) I thought the second girl would have won (Mel was it?) but was kind of hoping she wouldn't as from the clips they were showing I didn't really like her <me judgemental? of course not (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) >

Gutted I'm going to miss the strings tomorrow (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I agreed with the judges! Which instrument was Mel playing? (You can tell I just pay attention to the music!)

She was the oboist (I think) I had it on in the background while I was doing the exciting job of ironing (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) I thought it was close between the oboist and the flautist, but I think it was the very modern piece that got it - it was daring and he pulled it off very well!

The problem I have with his second piece is that I don't know if he pulled it off or not as it just sounded incredibly strange to me!

Ah well, I'm just jealous as I'll never be that good at anything (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
