My essay writing bit was okay, not as good as it could have been. Listen is always a disaster when I feel it was fairly easy!

Really? I didn't think they were that bad ... I think i screwed up the last question of the listening though, the name these two chords one, because i couldn't figure out which the chords were!

How did you find the film music questions?

I thought they were alright, but i had done a lot of revision on the stuff that came up, because we had pretty much predicted what kind of things they would ask based on what came up on last years paper.

Did anyone else do secular vocal music?

Edit - Did anyone else think that the listening paper seemed to be extremely woodwind orientated!?! I think three of the answers were 'flute', and i'm pretty sure that there were a couple of bassoons!

I didn't find the listening too bad. From past experience at listening questions, that means I failed miserably!

I liked the film questions (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) We did large ensemble though, and walked out of the exam the same way we walked in - arguing about transposition! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Edit: Yes, I liked the guess the instrument questions, seeing as I attempt to play most of them!

Speaking from a marker's point of view I'm not too sure. We have to justify our marks. If the student gives in a blank piece of paper we can just write CB ("copie blanche). If they write anything we have to explain why it has nothing to do with the question that was set. You also have to read the whole paper just in case something relevant is tucked away in there somewhere. We are always marking to a very tight schedule and I loathe these sorts of papers - as far as I'm concerned reading them is a waste of precious time.

I'm so pleased Music GCSE and English Lang AS are out of the way though...they're the most important for me, so they had to dominate my revision time! haha!

Do you mean lit or lang?
If lang, then i did that one, and i found it really good. Paper one was harder than paper 2 in my opinion though (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
And I didnt like the gender question on P2. But apart from that I thought it was a really good paper (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Had my last exam yesterday. So now I'm free til October. And two years of degreeness down, only 3 more to go...

I'm finding it awfully difficult to switch from lectures-coursework-REVIONREVISIONREVISION mode though. Woke up at 'get up early to do more revision' time this morning, despite my best attempt at having a lie-in.

Anyway, will say no more, as I already nearly got killed by an examed-out housemate with another week to go, this morning. Best of luck to all other examees.

Ooh can I ask a quick question about your marking then please?
If a student has containted irrelevant information, but some relevant, would they lose marks for that or just be given marks for correct info? (I got a bit sidetracked in one of my essays..)

Also, the title I was given for my essay was melody, and I forgot several key points (stress I suppose) but added in several points about the rhythm of the work.
Now, this should technically be in a separate section, which didn't get asked about, but as melodies have rhythms, and I was discussing the rhythms of the melodies, would I get marks for that?

Sorry, this is what I'm always like after an exam.. worrying about whether I've gained enough marks for my grade or not!
