Roughly how long before an exam do you all receive your exam date? I'm still waiting for my date and not knowing which region wales comes under either to contact the right people to find out is frustrating. I'v e entered for the christmas period which means that the exams start taking place from the 8th Nov. If any one can let me know anything regarding this i will be really thankful. This is the first time i've entered myself and my old teacher is out of the country at present so I can't ask her.
Thanks in advance,
Musical millie

Mine is on December 2nd, and I heard middle of last week, slightly more than a month ahead.

If you haven't heard within the next few days I would phone the board and ask their advice. Have you had a receipt for payment ? The number at the top of that letter should be able to advise you.

I can post the number if it will help - I'm not in Wales but I am in the UK - they will re-route you I'm sure if necessary.

The latest I ever received my exam date was 6 days before, but that was because of postal strikes and such problems. And surely if you're entering for an exam you should be ready for any time in the session? (I might say that but I can't talk because my teacher used to ask for the last week of the session and when my exam got moved closer things got a bit sticky  )

Yes, it seems notification for exams usually arrives with about three weeks to go. I've just received my date (23rd November). I'd also agree - if you're worried, contact ABRSM in London (switchboard will put you through to the right office).

Dear musicalmillie,

We would usually advise people to expect to receive notification of their examination date and time between two to four weeks before the exam date.

If you are concerned, I'd like to echo the very good advice given by other forums users and give us a call. Tell us where you're from and we'll forward you to the correct department. Telephone number is 020 7636 5400.

Good luck in your exam - and to all others taking exams this C session!

Best regards
