I used the main computer the other day to change my profile pic and it looks fine until I log in on my laptop. Then it shows the old pic of the toy band still. Why is this?

Can you all see Eddie and Dobbin or the toy orchestra or maybe nothing at all.

Try refreshing the page petrat - on my machine your profile pic is the new one. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

It should do - are you on the laptop now? If you're not, see what happens when you log in on there now (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

No. I am on the main one. The laptop is down at the studio. I'll try it tomorrow.

Fine boys aren't they!

I have a feeling you'll be OK with the laptop tomorrow.

So they are the legends that are Eddie and Dobbin! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/yay.gif) for them!

If you've left it logged on it might not. I need to refresh to getthe new posts sometimes if I just hibernate it rather than switch off.

I can see Eddie and Dobbin too. Are they your horses Petrat?

Do you have the photo on your laptop.
Not sure but it may need to be on the computer you are using?

I clicked on your profile a few seconds ago and it showed the old photo. The time given on the profile was correct, though, which showed that it was the latest 'version' of that page. I refreshed it just to see if anything would happen. The time stayed the same...but the new picture came up! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)

I tried to change my profile pic the other day, and it wouldn't work. It keeps saying contact the Administrator about the problem, and even when I tried to change it back to my original picture it wouldn't let me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)
I don't think it wants to let you all see my ugly mug, haha! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

All is well now. I hit the refresh button and up popped my lads. Eddie is the handsome fell pony on the right and "Dobbin" is actually Mabon, by baby gypsy cob. He was three when I took that I think. He is much wider now; a veritable tank of a thing and I love him to bits. There is a pic of Shenkin the shetland in the background too.

Yes, he's mine too. I used to use him for pony rides for the little kids at school open day as he is so gentle.

Short Version:

For future reference, all you need to do is clear your cache, which you can do in most browsers by pressing Ctrl + F5 (if that doesn't work try Shift + F5, it varies between browsers).

Long Version

Most browsers have a cache, which they use to store part of frequently visited pages (usually images) in order to reduce the amount of time it takes for those pages to load. By clearing the cached version of a particular page (as per instructions above) you clear out any stored parts of those pages and it'll load the page as it now is.
