Being partially sighted to near blindness - PCs can be literally be a pain. Having seen and desired an Imac I have now acquired a 20 inch 2.66 model for musical and teaching purposes. I have plugged in a midi keyboard and it works instantly which it never did on a PC

Sorry if I am gushing but I just wondered if there were any other users among the teachers here

Congratulations - I'm sure that you will enjoy lots of fun. I've been using Apple Macs with midi keyboards for twenty years and love them.

My son, who is a composer, has been using an Imac with a keyboard for several years and loves it!

Yep - I'm a Mac fan too - so easy, zero hassle. We've had a series of Macs over the last 19 years, each better than the last. Wouldn't consider buying anything else now!

I can't believe I just mis-read that so badly - I was thinking of immac, that became Nair - the hair removal product! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Added to my stupidity is that we have been Mac users for years (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif)

Thank goodness for that - I'm not the only one, and it was an identical thought process, I assumed it was an early comic relief stunt (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

I'm a big Mac fan too. I have an iMac. I think they're great for music, especially as you can just plug in and play as others have said.

I have a Mac too (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif). The best thing about them is that if you're using music editing software or photo editing software, the work flow is 100 times more efficient than on a PC. The only problem is that they're not good for gaming, but if you're that fussed, just get a games console.
