My son has Grade 7 saxophone at 11.30 on 23rd March, Grade 5 clarinet at 4.54 on the same day and Grade 3 piano on 24th March, some time in the morning. I'm feeling much more nervous than he is!
My piano teacher has just told me I'm ready to do my Grade 5 next session. Good luck to all those who have exams! |

I just had. Yesterday. I messed soooooo up. One trill mistake in the A piece, one missed start after a rest. Luckily for the first time ever with this piece, I found my way into it again and finished with asyncrone notes with my acompanist. And finally I found out that I have studied a wrong arpeggio and the scales didn't go as well as last time either, although I had not had to breath for the 2nd time ever in my 2 octaves of D major. And the Aural, I coundn't believe it, went astoundingly well, as did the sight reading, which I am usually good at. I wish I were tested for my English language skills yesterday. I would have got my distinction. But with that performance I probably have very closely missed it this time. I was soooooo nervous. I couln't believe it. Last time I went in there and was so cool. I think the C piece was ok, although I thought one note was not very sound at all. But I really cannot remember anymore. The whole exam yesterday is only a blurr.

Wow - good luck to your son Chris - although I guess with that many exams he hasn't really got the time to get nervous. Well done to Nova & Lemontree. I hope you don't have to wait too long for your results (I always thing the wait is the worst bit) |

Hi (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Good for you to pick up from your mistake ... its normally natural to be nervous during the exam and not remember much after that ... not to worry, what you thought to be not so good might not be bad after all... as long as you played your best .... don't think too much after its over and before you know it, you would have receive your results and realize you did better than you expect ... |

The G1 pieces are so interesting this year. I heard C2 in the podcast, and I hope to get hold of the piece soon to try out. May the T-Rex roar in your exam, Jazz Chicken!
