My lovely Step-Dad died this morning at 10.30 after a brave fight to live.
He was such a sweet man, and we will miss him so very much. Bern was a point of reference for me in many ways, and was so supportive when I had post-natal depression 15 years ago.
Bev.

This is the sad news you have been expecting for a while now, Bev, and I am sure it is none the easier to know that it has finally happened and that your Step Dad is now at peace after his battle. I hope that you and all your family can find comfort in the shared knowledge of all the happy moments you have shared with him.

Thinking of you and sending you my sympathy.

I shall indeed remember the good times. There were many (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Bern introduced me to the pleasures of Scotch Whisky. It was one of our day dreams to go on holiday to Scotland to do a tour of the distilleries. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)
Maybe one day I shall do it in memory of him.
He had a wicked sense of humour.............so we got on well (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
I have to say, that in the light of moans about the NHS, Bern and the family were treated with the utmost care and consideration. The Sister this morning couldn't do enough for us. She looked after my Mum as if she was her own (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Thanks everyone for the messages, texts and sympathy over the last few weeks.

Poor Bev. I'm so sorry to hear this. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thereThere.gif) It's good that the hospital staff were so caring though, and made his last few days as happy as they could.

You'll be in my thoughts and prayers over the next few weeks as you adjust to the new situation.
