I know I have to stay inbetween the bridge and the fingerboard but I think my slurs don't sound very good (violin by the way). So I was wondering if anyone had any tips for making my slurs sound better. Should I just practice the same bar over and over until it sounds good or is their a particular way of doing it so it sounds right?

Yes, keep the bow parallel to the bridge.

Play the open strings only for the notes you have to slur, when you have that sounding good, add fingers for the notes actually written

(I mean, if you have written B (fin 1 on A) slurred to G (fin 3 on D) then practise slurring A to D in the timing written until that sounds good, then try B slurred to D then try B slurred to G)

Make sure your bow arm and hand is loose!

Thank you I've been holding the bow arm a bit stif, maybe thats why it doesn't sound right. I'll try that!
