My violin is a boy and his name is Figaro, my double bass is also a boy and his name is Gandalf (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) But I think in terms of 'crazyness' you go beyond me Ffliwt, as I don't talk about my violin as if it's a person, nor I speak to it (erm Terra LOL) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Nice names (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) And hahaha i do worry myself sometimes. Some people think i'm purposely trying to be all eccentric and it's like no really i do just ADORE my violin (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Though the other day my teacher had her violin in her hand sat on her lap so the scroll was infront of her face, turned around then turned back and thought the scroll was a person in the room?! (first glance (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)) and she was like 'gosh, i thought someone was in the room then! but no, it was just you (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) *kisses violin*' i don't kiss my violin...! but how long until i do (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) |

I love my violin so much, as though she were a person (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) But violins do have their own personalities and such whereas my flute and stuff didn't... That's interesting, ffliwt, because my violin seems to be a person in her own right whereas my flute isn't. I love my flute to bits, but she's actually part/an extension of myself - wheras my violin is more of an intimate friend and has her own character. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) I kind of veiw my violin like that. My violin is a little person with his own personality where as my clarinet is like part of me (maybe because it's 14 years old but oh well). I couldn't live with out either of them. |

Hmm, well the thing that sort of pulled me away from flute and towards violin is that violin is much more personal (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Each violin is different and has it's own personality and characteristics but well, a flute is a flute. Even though i have a solid silver + 14k gold Miyazawa classic flute (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) But so do thousands of other people - no-one in the world has the same violin as me!

How true my viola is much more special than my clarinet, is it kinda wrong that I spent more on an instrument I've only just started than an instrument I have played since I was 7??? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)
I've took to viola so well always a pleasure to play it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Nicia (IMG:style_emoticons/default/clarinet.gif) |

So as my violin is a person that must mean that when I'm playing and it doesn't sound very good, that's because the violin is in a bad mood and has nothng to do with the (lack of) quality of my playing (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Violin practice is always done either if my daughter is in a good mood or once she has gone to bed. Besides she likes me playing twinkle twinkle over and over and it gets boring after a while. I must rather play the stuff I'm practicing. |
