Hi there,

I wondered if there is anyone on here who would be able/willing to help me learn the things for the grade 6 theory exam?

Having done grade 5 theory and then started studying the grade 6 books, I thought I understood everything and have my exam on 20th June, but I am finding it very difficult to do the papers and I am really not very good at it. I understand the concepts and with a lot of thought can eventually answer the questions with a lot of working through, but that is not useful for the exam papers.

I'd be so grateful if anyone could point me towards a teacher in the London area who gives theory lessons, or if anyone on the forum gives distance tutoring (either via post, or by email and online IM - I have a scanner and can copy and send my work by email).

Really really need some help here! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Hey there!

Justflutes have a teacher search service. You can search for teacher in your area for lessons on any discipline.

Have a look at it here

Hope this helps and good luck!!!!!

You could try www.musicteachers.co.uk to see if anyone on there gives just theory lessons.

Otherwise - try posting in the teachers' forum section?

I'm afraid I wouldn't feel confident teaching you on a "crash course"as it were in 2 weeks at grade 6 level.

I hope you find someone who can though.

His/her computer must be broken; I have heard nothing. Maybe s/he found a teacher. Good luck, heartbeat - my PM offer still stands.

Thanks people, I didn't know about those online directories for theory teachers.

All the teachers I called didn't answer their phones, which is odd, so I am still without any help!

I'm not able to use a computer frequently and I replied to your PM as soon as I read it just now - no need to be pushy!

You'll read my message - I'm grateful you'll mark my papers.

What I'd really really appreciate is if anyone on here is in London or the London area, because whilst it is useful to have someone to mark papers, I do think I really need some lessons, going through the material, rather than just marking. Anyone?
