How is your cello going? Sorry Nicia, only just spotted this. I visited iona on Wednesday, and tried a 'cello of hers. She guided me through the niceties of bowing, posture, fingering, pizzicato etc. The result of that is, all being well, I'll get a 'cello over the summer, and start lessons with her after the summer holidays. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Now all we need to do, once I'm up to speed on a 'cello, is grab a couple of violinists and do a quartetty thing at a future forum gig (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

That would be brilliant (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
Do we have enough clarinettists who also play strings to do a string quartet then pick clarinets up and play a clarinet quartet?? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Nicia (IMG:style_emoticons/default/clarinet.gif) |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Nicia (IMG:style_emoticons/default/clarinet.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Off the top of my head, I can think of one other forumite who plays clarinet and violin (Appassionata), I can't immediately think of another violinist/clarinettist... |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Project for 2010 maybe? I'd say do it in Chester in September, but I don't think there are that many quartets around that have 'cello parts just on open strings... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Just thought of another clari/violin person : Morgan's Munchkin (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Is there info for Chester in Sept? There will be : there's a thread in the events forum. I'm waiting for the closing date for Stalybridge (20th June) to pass before launching the event, with all the forms/website etc. It's on Saturday 19th September, and I'd love to see you there if you can make it Nicia (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) QUOTE (IMG:style_emoticons/default/yay.gif) I'll keep thinking of clarinet/violin people that could do it (I'm sure there's more than Appassionata/Morgan's Munchkin/nova), as we have the viola/'cello people sorted (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) . It'll depend of course on who can make the various events : I think you could count very easily as an adult learner on viola, which means you can qualify for Stalybridge and Teddington next year, as well as all the other events.
