I am trying to get together a group of Adult players of a reasonably high level to play different kinds of music for pleasure and also as a bit of a social gathering for Classical musicians. Eventually, I would hope to make an audio recording of the finished performances and/or do a Charity Concert.
The Level I'm looking for is that of being able to fluently read anything from Grade 4 upwards quite easily as I dont really want players who are still learning to play. I do enough of that in my job! :D Players who have mastery of their instrument, enjoy playing but don't get the chance to perform with other soloists and have always wanted to. Any Woodwind, or String teachers/players living in the North Wales area interested please E-Mail. I have been teaching the Piano for 12 years and playing for about 25 years and would enjoy playing Classical, Jazz and/or Film style music.....anything from Duets, to Piano Quintets, to Jazz and even original pieces, new arrangements etc as I also compose. If there are enough interested, minimum of 4/5 people, we could correspond at first via E-Mail, agree on about half a dozen or so pieces of music that we want to play from a particular Book Edition or even free out-of-copyright Classical pieces off the Net. I would prefer any players to learn their parts pretty well at first before meeting to save time in the rehearsal...a Church Hall etc of joint agreement in the North Wales area. I am close to Colwyn Bay but would be willing to travel so far. Also, because of my Job, it would have to be weekends only. Please E-Mail me if you are interested or for any more details. Failing any interest in this, doeas anyone know of any Music clubs of a similar nature that already exist in the area? Gae |

Rhapsodin,
I think the problem I will have is finding people in the same location as myself. Funnily enough, since writing this post, I have just spoken to a Violin Teacher friend who wants to rehearse some pieces that he has in his collection....so thats a start. At least, then, I've got some Duet playing lined up for now! :D Gae |

[QUOTE]
A genuine e-mail I'm sure but a bit unnecessarily derogatory. I know you're looking for a particular standard but have a heart for those adults who are still learning. |

????? Why should I "have a heart for those Adults still learning"? This has nothing to do with Adult Learners. Aren't I allowed to advertise and ask for a particular level of player without it being seen as an insult to players of other Levels? There was nothing derogatory in my request only a statement of the particular Level of player that I'm looking for. Gae |
