Does anymone out there have a copy of the Grade 4 ABRSM exam CD I could borrow or buy from them. When I got my book last year there were problems at the printers and I couldn't buy the whole set with accompaniment and CD so I just bought the book and accompaniment. I now find that the CD is not available to buy on its own and I don't want to buy another book!

Could you please PM me if anyone can help with this? Thank you.

Something strange has happened and the post has gone on three times - my apologies, don't know what happened there!

Can't help you out, but just wanted to add my comment of annoyance about this.

Up until the latest syllabus, I always bought the score first and learnt from that, and only bought the CD when building up to the exam.

I cannot understand why ABRSM have stopped selling the CD on its own. Nor do they sell the lower grades as downloadable tracks, like they do for the higher ones. It's so frustrating.

I quite agree jellywobble. It is pointless buying the book again just to get the CD. Fortunately, another member has PM'd me and is sending me a copy.

I thought they still did this - or have I missed something? I have the current Grade 8 syllabus on CD, but is that maybe because you can't buy the music all in one book?

In my case, I wanted to buy the grade 7 CD for the backing tracks. As said, I have the score and part books already, and there's no way I'm going to buy another copy for no good reason just to get the CD. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) The publishers are shooting themselves in the foot - I'm an honest soul and quite willing to pay for the CD, but I dont like being taken for a ride.

Now I'm scouting youtube for films of other people playing the same pieces, or looking for other creative ways to get hold of a copy.

Oh well.

I think that may be the reason for it because you also get bassoon and some other "rare instruments" on CD because they don't have books

I'm doing grade 5 cello, and I have two of the tracks for my exam already on a CD (they are Suzuki pieces).
Is it possible to download the one track I need? I've searched Itunes but they don't have the correct version.

Did someone say that the AB sold them as downloadable tracks?
thanks.
