Does anyone know this piece?
I'm currently considering List C pieces for a Grade 7 student of mine (Trinity).
Towards the end of the 1st movement (Pensers) there is a bar with an 8va indication over the top. This would mean playing top G sharp and A. I was wondering if anyone knew if this 8va was compulsory?! I know they sometimes aren't but it usually says, and I don't think my student would cope with those notes. I wouldn't expect them to be needed at Grade 7 usually...

Thanks!

Confirm it with the board, but at grade 7, I really wouldn't be going anywhere near those notes, and I should think leaving them down the octave would be quite OK (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Thanks, that was my opinion too! However, after asking, I then went and played through the piece, only to find a top G sharp written out earlier on in the movement! It's a shame as I think the list c pieces for TG grade 7 are especially weak and this seemed like a good option.
