One of my students had her G4 exam last month, in the G4 aural syllabus it states that the candidate is expected to clap the rhythm of a short extract from the piece played in C1, however on the day of my student's exam the examiner didn’t play the extract to ask her to clap, I wonder if this affects her result? If yes, what can we do? In my experience, this never happened to other of my students. do u have any advice? thanks.

Sounds like the examiner momentarily forgot about that bit of the test - he/she probably remembered as soon as the candidate had left the room!
Don't worry, it won't affect the mark at all - it wasn't the candidate's fault. Since the aurals are marked on 'general impression' anyway, rather than having points for the various sections, it can't make any difference to the overall mark. |

I think this happened to one of my students last year. She got full marks for her aural. I was slightly surprised at this - her pitch has always been slightly "off" although otherwise her aural skills are good. She commented later that she hadn't done the pitch test and thought the examiner had simply omitted it. As Jo said, it's not a problem. Maggie |
