The same as Stephie

Do you suffer from insomnia too? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) It's awful, isn't it?

Go to bed. And then lie awake for ages trying to sleep (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Ditto. I'll try-

Reading
Listening to music
Making tea
Listening to more music
Reading again
More tea...

Helps pass the time. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

I'm going to clear out the cat litter trays (fun fun fun) then get a few hours sleep before delivering no 1 son to school for a 5.20am start (trip to Turkey).

Been putting off going to bed as have taken root on sofa, watching all the episodes of that new costume drama thingy on ITV.

I just lie and think, which probably isn't the best thing to do when you already think too much! If I were at home I would get up and make myself some chamomile tea to help me relax, but the kitchen in the flat that I share with other students is so disgusting that I avoid it at all costs. I don't trust that kettle to be clean (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

It's horrific - I haven't used the kitchen in three weeks because of it! And thank you, I appreciate it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Attempt to mend a poorly clarinet (not one of mine, a school one). If my repair skills fail, the next thing I'll do is take it to the clarinet hospital...

I suffer from Insomnia too and I was reading this article the other day about how to become an early riser. It said to get up at the same time everyday say at 7am for 30 days but DO NOT go to your bed until you are absolutely ready to fall asleep, like feeling very drowsy. Apparently 6/7 hours sleep is better for you than 8 or 9. I've been trying this for the past week and it seems to be working, like I find i'm actually sleeping past 3am, usually I wake every morning at 3 am and can't get back to sleep, but I find not going to bed until I feel really drowsy is helping a lot.
Maybe worth a shot, I can post the link for the article if you want. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I get up at 07:00 every morning anyway, but because I get so little sleep I'm ALWAYS tired, always drowsy! All I want to do is sleep, but my brain/body just won't let me. What happens with me is that I go to bed between 23:00 and 00:30 [because I know there's no chance of me falling asleep before that], but I still won't fall asleep until between about four in the morning and sometimes as late as 06:00 - when I don't get to sleep til six that only gives me one hour of sleep! I get so frustrated by it all that I sometimes end up in tears. It's horrible. I'm going to go back to the doctor's about it, but last time they wouldn't give me anything - they just tried to get me to change my sleeping, exercise and even eating habits, but it didn't work. Maybe if I explain how bad it's getting they'll finally give me something... I've had this problem for years!

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I would be interested in seeing the article though! Maybe I can find something in it that could help.

Wow that's severe insomnia, I thought I was bad waking up a few times during the night.
Here's the link.

Have you tried boot's Sleepeaze tablets? They made me sleep a whole night when I took one, but I suppose you can't take them for longer than a week or so.
Hope you get something sorted soon!

Thanks so much for the link. I'm not sure how I could apply the sleeping at night part to my situation, but I'm quite interested in the part about getting up in the morning! "When my alarm goes off every morning, I turn it off, stretch for a couple seconds, and sit up. I don?t think about it. I?ve learned that the longer it takes me to get up, the more likely I am to try to sleep in..." - yup, that's me!

I've taken Sleepeaze tablets several times before but, like you said, you can't take them beyond a certain amount of time. They didn't help me sleep but they did relax me, which was good. When I can't sleep I get so tense so they helped in that respect.

Thanks for your help!
