I don't like the new format for the BBCs live text commentary. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) It's really hard to read with it being so squashed up along the side. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I think they've done it so they can display live coverage for those matches where the BBC has broadcasting rights. I don't think it's *too* bad to read, but it could be a bit larger...

I'll see what I can conjure up tomorrow (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

As for later, I'll predict another disappointing performance from France, resulting in another draw...

But we're all very sad here in Costa Rica... we were rooting for a South African victory. You should have heard the joyful screeches from the neighbouring street when they scored their first goal!

It would've been nice to see the hosts get a win (with due apologies to any Mexicans here!)

Group A might be quite an open group, so I'd say South Africa have a reasonably good chance of getting through, but they will probably have to beat either Uruguay or France to do so...

France on current form represent a good chance for South Africa to get 3 points...

My son's form teacher handed out predictions today on pieces of paper. My son's two predictions were a 1-1 draw this afternoon, with South Africa winning the group. He's half-way there (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I think I'm going to have to watch matches with the sound turned down - nothing to do with the commentary, but after about 5 minutes the vuvuzelas (if that's what it was) began to sound like a million giant hornets - that sound's going to drive me mad!

Also, Argentina are known as 'La Albiceleste'.

Big news - The USA team bus have apparently got stuck in a traffic jam by... an elephant...

Can't say we get that in the UK too often (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rofl.gif)
